PRINTMAKING

I began studying the art of hand pulling silk-screen prints at The Gilbert House in Atlanta and honed my craft at The Atlanta College of Art. As close to original art, the process is as much technical as it is creative. Cutting the green film and precisely layering colors on the screen, taught me what patience needs to look like for a successful end. Throughout the years, I have created twelve hand-pulled silk-screen prints, of very low numbers. I also studied monoprinting  with John T. Scott of New Orleans. This process, different from silk-screen, but methodical none the less, yielded one print and usually one ghost. Building the image, layering the colors, running it through the press and praying was always a part of the mystery and excitement as it rolled through the press.
